My heart will go on by Celine Dion. I used to love this song, back when Titanic hit the theaters. I actually was a massive Celine Fan as a kid, my favorite song was "if you ask me to" and "where does my heart beat now" I remember I would have to wait to get her cd's for Christmas and Birthdays, I had them all. I remember getting this record so I could listen to the song on repeat. I also had a thing for Leo, who didn't? And then I went and saw the movie... it destroyed me, watching that ship go down, knowing of course that it happened in real life... and then as if the situation wasn't bad enough there was no room for Jack on that tiny pathetic piece of wood and so rose just let him go to sink to depths of the sea... that part was pretend but still super traumatic. I couldn't think about anything else for months, couldn't sleep, couldn't handle it, nor could I handle the song any more, My heart could not go on.
I won't even watch the video below:
I love the song, "My Heart Will Go On" and I love the movie, "Titanic", despite the sadness of it. Sorry, Brooke, I still do love the song and the movie :)
ReplyDeleteI could NOT find a song for me that fit this category.
I do want to say that I wish there was a category for favorite songs/soundtracks from movies, and also from Broadway musicals.
So here goes....I am taking liberties..
"Out of Africa" and "Moulin Rouge" are Favorite Movie soundtracks for me. Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor singing "Come What May" is MAGIC!

The only song that brings back a bad memory for me is "The Boy from New York City". Not by the the Ad Libs but by Manhattan Transfer. Saw them in Concert and they refused to sing the song. I loved their version but do not own it because of that.
ReplyDeleteAhh, but what would your brother say?! :)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm with you on this one. The movie totally killed the song for me. To this day I can't watch the last half of the movie. Sad, I know.
That's sort of how I feel towards Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" after seeing Armageddon. So sad!
