You may or may not have heard this song on youtube, but I wrote it a while back, in my days before idol and performed it at the Key Club in Hollywood for the Star 98.7 Rockstar contest to win a record deal with Ironworks Records... ironically, I made it to the top five, but didn't win. Bummer, plan B... a few days later I was on a plane to Philadelphia to catch the last audition for American Idol season 7... long story short, I got a golden ticket to hollywood. I made it to the top 5 but didn't win... but definitely didn't lose. The rest is history...
Anywho, I'm working on the next album, but it's gonna take a little while, so in the meantime I thought that it would be sort of fun to give away this little acoustic version of "Say Goodbye" to ya... I've actually had a lot of people ask me if I was ever going to release this song, so here ya go! All you have to do is click on the links or picture below, follow the directions and then post the link on your twitter or facebook, and then it magically uploads to your itunes... Yay!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the song, Brooke! I've heard your live version of "Say Goodbye" before and immediately fell in love with it.
"Circle Of Life" from The Lion King reminds me of my high school commencement. Our valedictorian chose this song to play over the sound system as our grad class filed in and out of the theatre.
Watching the Beatles perform five songs broadcasted “Live” for the first time on the “Ed Sullivan Show” on February 9, 1964. The electricity before, during and after the show was unbelievable. The five songs were “All My Loving”, “Till There Was You”, “She Loves You”, “I Saw Her Standing There”, and “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. For me I couldn’t play “I Want to Hold Your Hand” enough which was #1 on the charts at the time.
ReplyDeleteLOVELOVELOVED this song from the first time I heard the live version.. Thanks for giving this to us for free!
ReplyDeleteHmm, a song that reminds me of a place... Fast Cars & Freedom by Rascal Flatts. It reminds me of summers at my friend Katie's house at her pool. We would call the radio station every ten minutes asking them to play that song. I'm sure they got very annoyed, haha :)
Jim Fern..I was just young and I saw it too my mother was a Beatles fangirl..lol
ReplyDeleteFor me..In My Life by the Beatles played at my brother's funeral by a friend of his who sang a beautiful acoustic version both very sad and also a bit happy..both

ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS SONG. YOU'RE AMAZING! :)
ReplyDeleteYOUR MUSIC MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.
Ooh, I'm loving this song. Speaking of loving songs, "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles reminds me of a trip with friends to Moab, Utah and Arches National Park over Presidents Day weekend in 2008. We listened to it a million times driving from northern Utah, and the boys in the car requested it the most. I especially like hearing that song and thinking about that weekend because later that year one of those boys became my husband.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, Brooke, another great song! I love all your songs!I am excited about another new album.
ReplyDeleteWhen I hear Pachelbel Canon in D, I think of our beautiful daughter at her beautiful wedding. I can see her again on her dad's arm (my husband's arm) walking down the aisle -brings tears to my eyes-so lovely and special!
S again,repeating-- I forgot to sign who it was from, with the post above-about 'Pachelbel Canon in D' being played at our beautiful daughter's beautiful wedding on her dad's arm as she walked down the aisle- so wonderful and special! Also, it was performed by a local trio on the violin, etc. Beautiful memory! Whenever I hear it I think of this special day- from Nantucketbreeze/Susie

cheers!
check out Amy Kuney and her song "Gasoline Rainbows." it will forever remind me of the oil spill in the gulf, and the efforts put towards helping out and fixing things.
ReplyDeleteDear Brooke, glad you decided to share the song with your fans. You have an amazing voice, love the song. Keep shinning.
ReplyDeleteA song that reminds me of an event is Within Temptation's "Somewhere." A few summers ago, I hit my cousin's dog with my car and that song captured the melancholy feeling I held. I couldn't really sleep that night, but I listened to this song over and over even though I couldn't directly relate to the lyrics.(There's a lot more detail in my blog post, since I decided to do this song challenge, too.) It's amazing how music has the ability to hold emotions and keep these memories alive.
ReplyDeleteThe dog is alive and well, by the way. He's a happy, playful, loving Husky =)
