DAY 9: A SONG THAT YOU CAN DANCE TO...

Oh believe me... i love to break it down, boogie, shake it, disco, twist and shout and with out shame like nobodies watching... and yes I know i don't look the super coolest when I dance, (why do you think I sit behind a piano or guitar when I sing), but, Dave Ray CPA does, as a matter of fact he is the better dancer between the two of us. He's got skillz... and actually taught swing dancing while he was in college... he has attempted to teach me a few moves "and right, left, step ball change" He leads, I try to follow... until he gets all fancy and I can't keep up. We like to swing dance in the living room to 'baby you've got what it takes" by Dinah Washington & Brook Benton. Pretty fun...

  1. I love to dance! There are so many great songs to dance too. "Come On Up" by The Rascals,"Proud Mary" by CCR,"The HOP" by Danny and the Juniors and "You Should Be Dancing" by Bee Gees.

  2. Baby, You Got What it Takes is just a fantastic song. It truly is my fantasy song to sing as a duet with someone.

  3. Hmmmm... As a teenager our region had two stake dances each weekend to choose from... ours in Newport Beach being the best of the eight... always live bands... which is where I was every weekend... pre-disco era, nothing choreographed, just moving around... 100 pounds and several decades ago...

Thinking I was pretty good with an Irish Jig and Polka in the 1976 Dance Festival at the Rose Bowl...

Can't recall any of those moves (much), or the last time we went dancing anywhere... but hundreds of songs are good for dancing around the house...

Okay... one song... how about Slow Dancin' by Johnny River? But back in the day Stairway To Heaven was a favorite because it was a slow dance that got faster and faster, and of course always ended with kissing (long sustained note) whomever I'd asked to dance. Also always enjoyed Surfer Girl (and singing the lyrics in the girls ear)...

Dang I wanna get into a time machine!

  4. Yes, there are many. I like "I Want You" on Kelly Clarkson's latest album, has a disco beat to it. Also, Kelly's "Gone" and "Walk Away", "The Day we Fell Apart", have good beats.
"Radio, Radio" and "High Hopes and Heartbreak" are also great ones to dance around to! :) There is "Take a Chance on Me", "Mamma Mia" and others by Abba, too.
